This is a bit of an odd request, and it might be a XY problem, so I'll try to provide as
much context as possible.
In my SWF file (linked to this issue), the sprite with chid=669 appears "glitching" in the
FFdec UI : it randomly switch between different (similar) sprites (even if there is a
single frame).
But this is actually the right behavior : this sprite #669 is dependent on sprite #668,
which has 4 frames (with different sprites), and some AS code that randomly pick a frame
at loading time. So when loading #669, it loads a random frame of #668. #669 still has a
single frame, but it changes everytime...
I would like to be able to export the multiple frames of #669. Currently when I run the
command line, it always export the same frame (I guess everytime I run the command, a
specific seed is used ?).
I would like to be able to run the command many times, each time with a different seed, in
order to try to get a different frame.
(Note that I know I can just export the multiple frames of #668 directly. But that's
because #669 is simple and just made of #668, but there might be cases where a sprite is
made of multiple random sub-sprites ?)
You can export subsprite animation with something like:
ffdec -select 1 -format frame:png -sublength 10 -export frame out/ file.swf
First you select the frame (-select 1),
then you set number of subframes (-sublength 10).
Note that it is not always clear how many subframes are "total" in the frame,
because each subsprite can have individual loop.
Works like a charm, this is perfect thank you !
You're welcome.
